BEAUTIFULLY PRESENTED ARTIFACTS
Bull Nosed Lower Paleolithic Acheulian Hand Axe

This is a scarce bull-nosed acheulian hand axe dating somewhere between 500,000 and 1.2 million years old. It is made of quartzite, and was found in North Africa

Incredibly, this axe dates back to Homo erectus - an extinct species that pre-dates Homo sapiens. Homo Erectus are believed to be the first people to emigrate from Africa.

Acheulian hand axes are chipped on both sides to form two cutting edges. It measures approximately 113mm x 73mm and sits down into a hand-carved depression on a beautiful oak block

As with all Artifacta artifacts, its authenticity is unreservedly guaranteed
