Neolithic Stone Axe

This stone axe was found in North Africa and dates back to around 4000 BCE. It is loose mounted in a hand-carved seating on an oak block. A small bowl-shaped depression to one side of the block contains six neolithic stone beads dating back to the same period.

The axe itself measures approximately 92mm long and 54mm wide, tapering to its edge

The oak block measures 175mm x 55mm and stands 40mm high
